KALAMAZOO, MI — Western Michigan men's basketball dominance of Central Michigan at University Arena continued Saturday evening.
The Broncos, who entered the contest with a six-game home winning streak against their rival dating back to 2009, outlasted the Chippewas, 92-85.
Throughout the season, WMU has struggled to close out games on the defensive end, but the Broncos did just that Saturday in front of an announced crowd of 3,869.
CMU's Luke Meyer tied the game at 77 with 2:51 remaining, but the Broncos took over from there. WMU's Drake LaMont made a free throw and Anthony Avery drained a jumper from the free-throw line to give WMU an 80-77 advantage.
