KALAMAZOO, MI — Western Michigan football will continue to play an opponent from the Sun Belt moving forward.
The Broncos announced Thursday morning a home-and-home series with Georgia State beginning in 2018. WMU will travel to Georgia State on Sept. 22, 2018, before hosting the Panthers at Waldo Stadium on Sept. 14, 2019.
This upcoming season, WMU will finish its series with Georgia Southern, who also plays in the Sun Belt. The Broncos are 6-3 against current Sun Belt schools, which includes a 43-17 loss to Georgia Southern last year.
Georgia State started its football program in 2010 and made its first bowl game last year, falling to San Jose State, 27-16, in the AutoNation Cure Bowl.
