Western Michigan football is coming off arguably its best win of the season heading into possibly its most important game of the season. Its significance does not just ride on the fact that the Broncos are a loss away from being out of bowl contention, but also for the purpose of retaining the Victory Cannon Trophy, as well as claiming the Michigan MAC Trophy.
WMU dominated Eastern Michigan 45-21 last weekend and improved to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in Mid-American Conference play.
The cannon trophy was introduced in 2008 and is a tribute to each schools ROTC programs that fire a cannon when its team scores.
