BOARDMAN, Ohio – The Western Michigan golf team sits in fourth place, while junior Megha Vallabhaneni is tied for third after the opening round of the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State at Mill Creek Park Golf Course, on Sunday.
The Broncos combined to shoot a 300 (+12) and sit just eight strokes from first-place YSU, three strokes from second-place Purdue Fort Wayne, and just one shot from third-place Indiana State in the 14-team field.
Vallabhaneni shot an opening-round score of 71 (-1) and is a five-way tie for third place. She is just two shots out of first place and one shot out of second.
