The first full day of competition at the USA Curling National Championships brought with it the first two matches of the women’s draw and the second and third matches of the men’s draw.
The big winner of the day for the women was Team Sinclair, led by reigning national champion Jamie Sinclair. Her team cruised to an 8-2 victory over Team Traxler in the noon session, and came back from 6-3 down in the eighth end to win against Team Roth in the 8 p.m. session, 9-6. In that match against the team that represented the United States at the 2018 Peyongchang Winter Olympics, Team Sinclair scored three points in both the ninth and tenth ends.
