CLEVELAND, Ohio- Western Michigan junior forward Tucker Haymond was named the men's basketball Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference, the league office announced Monday, Dec. 14.
Haymond led the Broncos to a 2-0 record last week, as WMU posted an 87-86 overtime win over defending Colonial Athletic Association champion Northeastern Monday and a 101-59 win over Marygrove Saturday. With the two victories, Western Michigan improved its record from 3-5 on the season to 5-5 and stayed undefeated at home in 2015-16 at 4-0.
Haymond averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal per game in the two contests, shooting 64 percent from the floor and hit 42.
