KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team won seven events but ultimately fell to Eastern Michigan 109-82 at Kanley Track & Field Complex on Friday afternoon.
The host Broncos picked up wins in the hammer throw, discus, shot put, high jump, 400-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay but were outpaced by the reigning indoor Mid-American Conference Champions. Despite the loss head coach Kelly Lycan was pleased with the overall effort and competitiveness of the team.
"We knew this was going to be a challenge for us," said Lycan. "Eastern Michigan is the defending MAC Champs both indoors and outdoors.
