KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team heads to the University of Illinois for the Illini Classic on Saturday.
The Broncos opened up the 2016 indoor season with a win at the Bowling Green Opener last Saturday, winning seven events in the process. At the Illini Classic WMU faces tough competition from the host Fighting Illini, St. Louis, Eastern Illinois and Loyola.
This is the first trip for Western Michigan back to the Illini Classic since the 2014 indoor season. The Broncos took fourth overall behind Northern Illinois, Memphis and champions Illinois. WMu scored points in the 800, shot put, weight throw, and the 400-meter dash.
