KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan track and field team opens the 2017-18 indoor season on Saturday, Jan. 6, hosting Oakland for its annual Ice Breaker dual meet at University Arena beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The meet is free to the public.
This is Oakland's first trip to Kalamazoo for WMU's season-opening meet. The Broncos won their last two Ice Breakers, defeating Ball State last season and Bowling Green in 2016. Points will be awarded on a 5-3-2-1 basis with the top two athletes from each team scoring. Relays will be scored 5-3.
