KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team heads to Hillsdale College for the 50th Annual Hillsdale College GINA Relays beginning on Thursday.
The meet is named after Hillsdale great and NAIA cross country champion Gina Van Laar Lanser, who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1996 and has been a mainstay on WMU's schedule for years.
Western Michigan will be one of 50 colleges from varying divisions to compete this weekend, beginning with the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run this evening. Raychel Figurski will be running the steeplechase, while Hanne Christensen and Daya Wagh will compete in the 5,000.
