KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field squad has gotten off to a strong start in the 2023 indoor season, and the regional voters have taken notice. For the first time since February of 2021, the Broncos have achieved a top-20 ranking in the Great Lakes Region.
WMU checked in at No. 20 in the initial poll, but they are just five points behind No. 19 Akron and seven points ahead of No. 21 Toledo. The Broncos are one of eight Mid-American Conference teams to receive a top-25 ranking in the region. The Big ten dominated the top of the poll, earning four of the top-five teams.
