DEKALB, Ill. -- The Western Michigan track and field team finished fifth at the MAC Championships, which marked the team's best finish since 2014. Along with that, the Broncos had their highest point total since 2012. The Brown and Gold also had two individual champions for the first time since 2019.
On the final day of competition, no one shined brighter than Mabinty Kebe. She claimed the 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 59.12. She was more than a second faster than the next fastest athlete. She became the Broncos' first champion in the event since Erin Dowd in 2019.
