Beauregard began her time at the podium by stating how much interest there was in the WMU head coaching vacancy.
“It was amazing, the amount of individuals that were interested in our job at Western Michigan. There’s no doubt that this is a tremendous university. It is an opportunity to keep our momentum going with the football program coming off a 13-0 regular season, an unbelievable opportunity at the [Mid American Conference] championship game. And then certainly the opportunity of a lifetime for us to be able to play in the Cotton Bowl,” Beauregard said.
Beauregard also mentioned that she met with current WMU Student Athlete Council, student athletes and the football team to see and hear what they were looking for in a new football coach.
