COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey alum Matt Tennyson has been selected to represent the United States at the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championships May 21-June 6 in Riga, Latvia.
Tennyson spent the season with the New Jersey Devils, appearing in 21 games and scoring one goal and two assists. He has appeared in 165 career NHL games in eight seasons and has played in 305 games in the AHL in his career.
This is defenseman's first time competing at the IIHF World Championships. He joins other former Broncos Danny DeKesyer (USA), Frederik Tiffels (Germany) and Oliwer Kaski (Finland) to compete in the tournament in recent years.
