Goaltender Tom McCollum was the starter in net for the Griffins on April 8, turning a solid performance in a 4-3 win over the Chicago Wolves in front of a packed Van Andel Arena crowd.
In his last three starts, McCollum has allowed just six goals, which is the kind of performance that could lead them to a Calder Cup championship.
“Obviously I want to be the guy who starts,” McCollum said. “At the same time, I know as long as I stay focused and do my job good things are going to happen for the team.
