KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan University women's basketball team defeated Prairie View A&M University Tuesday 87-58. In the victory, four Broncos scored in double figures including graduate student Hannah Spitzley and junior Marina Asensio, who combined for 28 points.
In the opening frame, WMU built a 10-point lead over the Panthers by limiting their foes to 25% from the field. After Prairie View cut the Brown and Gold's lead to one with 4:33 remaining in the first, the Broncos concluded the quarter on a 9-0 run to create a 17-7 lead entering the second quarter.
