KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Sophomore point guard Thomas Wilder is becoming the leader Western Michigan men's basketball team needs the rest of the way in 2016.
The polite and easy-going sophomore is No. 4 overall in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in scoring averaging 17.2 points per a game and paces WMU in assists with 52 and steals with 20. As a freshman last season, Wilder's role was bigger than anticipated for the Broncos including starting eight games after senior point guard Austin Richie went down with an injury. This year Wilder has a new challenge he needs to personify as he blossoms as a player and that is being a leader.
