AKRON, Ohio -- The Western Michigan softball team was swept on the road at Akron over the weekend, falling on Friday 12-3 and then dropping a doubleheader 6-4 and 9-1 on Sunday.
GAME 1
Akron opened the scoring in the second inning, scoring two runs on errors by the Broncos. Payton Kelly got the Broncos on the board in the top of the third on a double to left field, scoring Riley Dittmar to cut Akron's lead to 2-1. The Zips then busted the game wide open with three runs in the bottom of the third, four in the bottom of the fourth and then three more in the bottom of the fifth.
