BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. – The Western Michigan softball team opened Mid-American Conference play by securing a 4-2 victory against Bowling Green on Wednesday afternoon. It was the first MAC victory for first year Bronco head coach .

Western Michigan got started early with a two-run single by Farrish in the top of the first inning. BGSU followed with a run in the bottom of the first to close the lead, 2-1.
Leading off in the top of the third, Kelly sent a bomb over the left field wall to put another run on the board for the Broncos.
