KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan softball dropped a non-conference matchup at the University of Michigan Tuesday, falling by a score of 9-1.
Michigan took an early advantage in the first inning with a leadoff homer and triple to push across three runs. The Wolverines added a pair of runs in the second to extend the lead, to 5-0.
The Broncos sought out chances top of the third and stranded a pair of runners on second and third. Payton Kelly and Haleigh Smith each tagged singles and advanced on a wild pitch to threaten the Wolverines.
