AKRON, Ohio.- Western Michigan fell to Ohio in the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Firestone Stadium on Friday. The Broncos took an early lead but the Bobcats came back in the seventh taking a 5-2 lead. The Broncos fought back and tied it up in the bottom of the seventh but fell 8-5 in eight innings.
Senior shortstop Sabrina Gamboa hit her fifth homerun of the season, Gamboa is now one of only two players to hit 20 career homeruns for the Broncos. Lexi Jager (2008-11) holds the record for most career homeruns with 25.
