KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Junior Meredith Shipman had a historic game, but the Western Michigan women's basketball team ultimately fell to Toledo 80-73 in front of 4,216 fans at Savage Arena. Shipman set a new Western Michigan single-game record with nine 3-pointers as she led all scorers with 31 points shooting 11-for-17 and 9-for-14 from beyond the arc. The record was previously held by Curleta Harris as she connected on eight 3-pointers against Illinois State on Nov. 23, 2002.
The Broncos fall to 9-6 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) while the Rockets improved to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the MAC.
