The first day of Western Michigan women’s basketball practice took place on Sept. 27, which means head coach Shane Clipfell returns to his in-season coaching schedule leaving him with less time to spend with his family. Clipfell enters year seven as at the helm of the women’s basketball program and even with games, practices and recruiting, Clipfell still finds time during the season for his wife and two adult children.
“Coaching is a family affair. My wife is part of my extended coaching staff. She plans things for us and is in charge of our booster club. It’s a lifestyle and its one your family better be committed to also flexible with,” Clipfell said.
