COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey's Max Sasson and Brandon Bussi both earned National Collegiate Hockey Conference weekly honors for their contributions in WMU's sweep of No. 10 North Dakota over the weekend.
Sasson has been named the Bauer NCHC Rookie of the Week, while Bussi earns Co-Bauer NCHC Goalie of the Week.
Sasson had three points on the weekend, setting up the Broncos' first and last goals in Friday's 4-1 win over the Fighting Hawks. On Saturday he netted his fourth goal of the season, pouncing on a pass during a UND power play and skating in for the short-handed goal to put WMU up 1-0 late in the first period.
