DULUTH, Minn. -- Western Michigan fifth-year senior Josh Passolt netted the game-winning goal 1:51 into overtime to push the third-ranked Broncos over No. 7 Minnesota-Duluth, 3-2, at AMSOIL Arena on Saturday night.
Passolt got the puck from Michael Joyaux and skated into the UMD zone along the left wall. He pushed up into the left circle and earned himself some space with a toe-drag before firing it off the left post and into the net for his second goal of the night and the winner. Joyaux tallied his second assist of the night and his 19th of the season, while freshman forward Max Sasson picked up a helper to extend his career-best point streak to five games.
