The trade would probably have the Wings retain most of Howard’s $5.5 million contract, which wouldn’t be the worst of the Wings’ problems. Petr Mrazek is the future goaltender for this team; I think that has been very clear. Mrazek has played in 39 games this season and racked up impressive numbers. With a 2.02 goals against average and 22-10 record along with a .930 save percentage, Mrazek has proven he is a star starter in the NHL.
In return, the Red Wings would be looking for a defenseman that could help bolster the less than stellar defense.
