KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Behind the play of the captains, the Western Michigan women's basketball team will be heading to Cleveland, Ohio after a 94-52 win over Northern Illinois Monday night at University Arena.
The Broncos improved to 17-14 overall and have now won at least one Mid-American Conference Tournament game for the fourth straight season under head coach Shane Clipfell. The Huskies will end the 2016 regular season at 11-19 overall. This set a new record for the largest win in MAC Tournament history, passing the 41-point victory posted over Akron by the 2003 MAC Championship team.
