In the first game of the weekend series, the Fighting Hawks shut out the Broncos 2-0.

The Broncos played a good game, not allowing any goals until the third period. UND’s Brock Boeser scored both goals on the game.

“Our guys competed and battled, we had great time of possession in their zone and a number of great scoring chances. A goalie is a part of the game and their goalie played very well. Lukas Hafner was very good tonight and we needed that,” Broncos head coach Andy Murray said.

Senior goaltender Lukas Hafner made 28 saves but only allowed one goal, as the second goal of the game was an empty net.
