DEKALB, Ill. – Junior Payton Murphy scored a 39.350 all-around record, but the Western Michigan gymnastics team finished fourth at the Northern Illinois "Beauty and the Beast" Quad Meet on Sunday night.
The Broncos scored 194.050, while Iowa State won the meet with a total of 196.275, Central Michigan finished second with a 196.125, and NIU was third with a score of 195.500.
Murphy's all-around score was good for second, just 0.025 behind the top all-arounder. She registered a 9.850 on bars and floor, and scored a 9.825 on vault and beam.
