On Thursday, the Mid-American Conference announced it will delay all Olympic sports competitions until Sept. 3.
The postponement involves the sports of field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball and men's and women's cross country.
In the conference's press release, the MAC stated "the decision will provide additional time to prepare for the safe return to competition on an adjusted timeline."
The conference also stated this decision allows for all sports to align with the start of football season and for all fall competition to begin at the same time. The conference's first out of conference football games are scheduled for Sept.
