CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Western Michigan men's tennis team has swept the Mid-American Conference weekly awards, as announced on Wednesday afternoon. Senior's Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi were named the Doubles Team of the Week, while Opitz earned Singles Player of the Week recognition.
Opitz and Nouchi teamed up at #1 doubles on Sunday to defeat Brandon Ancona and Brian Pecyna from Valparaiso 6-4. Their victory clinched the doubles point for the Broncos, who would go on to beat the Crusaders by a 4-3 score. Opitz also won at #1 doubles with sophomore Peter Kuszynski on Saturday against Illinois State, beating Diego Le Gal Perez and Jorge Bartra.
