VESTAL, N.Y. - Western Michigan men's tennis won its sixth straight Mid-American Conference opener on Friday afternoon, defeating Binghamton 7-0. The Broncos have now been victorious in their last five matches against the Bearcats, dating back to April 2016.
WMU won both doubles matches that finished on the court to take the early 1-0 advantage over Binghamton. Senior Jannik Opitz earned his 100th career doubles win in the process, defeating Alejandro Pena and Kushaan Nath by a 6-3 score with his partner, sophomore Peter Kuszynski.
The Broncos impressed in singles action, sweeping all six contests, with four of those victories coming in straight sets.
