KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team opened up its 2016-17 season with an impressive day one of the WMU/Vredevelt Invitational, as the team finished 16-7 overall in one round of doubles and two of singles.
"Overall I thought we had a good day with a high winning percentage in singles and doubles but we definitely need to improve our performance in doubles," assistant coach Nadin Indre said. "I think we have a lot of talent all through our lineup and we saw that with our freshman going undefeated in singles."
The day started with one round of doubles, as WMU went 3-2 overall.
