KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Head coach Chad Wiseman has announced the addition of Josep "Pepe" Martinez to the 2016 Western Michigan men's soccer roster. Martinez recently signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to continue his academic and athletic career at WMU.
A native of Sant antoni de vilamajor, Spain, Martinez has been in the United States as an exchange student attending Kokomo High School in Kokomo, Ind. He is a 5-10, 160-pound midfielder and will be a freshman at Western Michigan this fall.
Martinez joins incoming freshmen Anthony Bowie, Mitchell Herried, Mitchell Patchett, Baba Valdmanis, AJ VanVoorhis and Giuseppe Vitale as well as transfers Evan Brandon (UConn), Tommy Clark (Bradley), Jake Rufe (Indiana) and Kyle Taalman (Ohio State) in the 2016 recruiting class.
