ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on the road Monday night at the hands of Oakland, who came away with the 77-60 win at O'Rena.

"They were getting rebounds and getting out on fast breaks off of our missed shots and they got some really good looks on those fast breaks," Head coach Steve Hawkins said. "We are going to have some bumps and bruises along with the way with the team that we have this season, but it's the response those that I am really looking at.
