KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Thursday that Western Michigan men's basketball has earned its Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2018-19 season.
This award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 season. It's the first time since 2012-13 the Broncos have earned the academic recognition.
In the classroom during the spring semester, the Broncos posted a 3.21 GPA while during the Fall semester had 10 players registering a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Senior Seth Dugan led the Brown & Gold on the court and in the classroom in 2018-19.
