Western Michigan women’s basketball suffered an 80-50 loss to the Kent State Golden Flashes Saturday. The defeat drops the Broncos to 7–9 on the season, while Kent State improves to 11-7.

Graduate student Hannah Spitzley led WMU with 18 points, and junior Marina Asensio added 13 points and eight assists. Despite their efforts, the Broncos struggled offensively, shooting just 30.2% from the field and pulling down only 20 rebounds to Kent State’s 43. While WMU forced 11 turnovers, Kent State capitalized on their eight more effectively, converting them into 11 points.

Kent State set the tone early, but the Broncos managed to keep pace.
