Going into overtime tied at 76, KSU put the first points on the board when Jimmy Hall, who totaled 21 points, made two free throws to put KSU up to 78. WMU responded when senior forward Anthony Avery Jr. added a jump shot. That was the closest WMU got to a lead in overtime.

“We’re far too nice of a basketball team,” head coach Steve Hawkins said. “We have to get nastier. We have to be meaner.”
