CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday the 2016 softball preseason poll and predicted the regular season and tournament champions as voted by the head coaches of the 12 MAC institutions.
In the MAC East, the Miami RedHawks tallied three first place votes and were the top overall vote getter to be predicted first in the division for 2016. Miami won 32 games last season and had the third best conference record in the MAC at 13-7. Ohio was second in the poll, followed by Kent State in third and rounding out the MAC East was Akron, Buffalo and Bowling Green.
