Ball State came out of the locker room playing some inspiring basketball, knocking down seven of the Broncos first eight shots and burying WMU into a 20-point deficit. Western came back with a run of their own that got them into the game and cut the Cardinal lead down to just six points.
Slow starts have killed the Broncos this season. Some teams can get away with a bad start here and there, but according to WMU head coach Steve Hawkins, “this team just does not have a margin for error. We have to play perfect basketball or dang close to it to win games.
