AKRON, Ohio- Western Michigan softball defeated Central Michigan 2-0 to stay alive in the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Firestone Stadium on Thursday. The Broncos will play the loser of No. 2 seed Miami and No. 3 seed Ohio at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. With a win the Broncos will play again at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow against the winner of No. 6 Akron or No. 7 Toledo.
Senior pitcher Allyson Kus (16-15) threw a complete game and allowed just two hits in the shutout.
Senior Melisa Palmer recorded her 218th career hit in the game which sets a new program record.
