ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Kayla Schiera posted a school-record time in the 1,500-meter run to headline a strong day for Western Michigan at the Grand Valley State Extra Weekend.
Schiera's time of 4:22.10 is more than a second faster than the next best time in school history. She now holds the school record in the 1,500-meter run and 3K steeplechase. In her last three appearances, Schiera has recorded two school records and one other top-10 time in program history.
Annalise James was also strong in her lone event of the day.
