The Kalamazoo FC soccer team was added to the National Premier Soccer League this year and joined AFC Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids FC, along with Detroit City FC, Lansing United and the Michigan Stars in the National Premier Soccer league, according to MLive.
Mike Garrett, club founder, owner of SoccerZone and owner of Back of the Net Sports, will lead the direction for the brand new club. The club's first mission was to pick a name for the team. After suggestions from the community and social media, the soccer club decided on "Kalamazoo FC."
"The name Kalamazoo FC aligns with what this team represents," Garrett said in emails sent to its supporters.
