Being a college student is a challenge. Being a student-athlete just adds to that challenge. Throw in the occasional trips around South America to represent your home country, well that's a blessing. All three are now routine for sophomore Western Michigan women's soccer midfielder Maria Jaramillo.
Jaramillo, who sports a 3.97 GPA in biochemistry, is just a month removed from her first experience with the full Colombian Women's National Team, participating in its camp from Jan. 6-16.
"It was an incredible learning and growing experience," Jaramillo said.
All of her previous experience had come with Colombia's U17 and U20 teams.
