COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After sweeping Miami, Western Michigan hockey's Matheson Iacopelli and Trevor Gorsuch both earned National Collegiate Hockey weekly honors with Iacopelli earning Offensive Player of the Week and Gorsuch claiming Goalie of the Week.
Iacopelli netted four goals and an assist on the weekend. In Friday's 6-3 win he netted two goals in the third period to extend WMU's lead to 5-3 and then 6-3. He also assisted on Frederik Tiffels' game-tying goal in the second period. On Saturday he netted two more goals, including the game-winner, in the 5-2 win over the RedHawks.
