ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Western Michigan hockey senior captain Hugh McGing has signed a two-year contract with the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues on Friday.
The deal begins in the 2020-21 season.
McGing spent four years with the Broncos, playing in 147 career games and totaling 117 points on 46 goals and 71 assists. The Chicago, Ill., native was drafted in the fifth round (138th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft after putting up 30 points on nine goals and 21 assists as a sophomore. McGing is a two-time All-NCHC selection, earning Second Team honors in 2018-19 and becoming the first Bronco in program history to earn First Team honors this season after tallying 35 points on 13 goals and 22 assists to lead the team.
