KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team will be participating in the 2018 Concussion Awareness Weekend program through the Headway Foundation as it travels to Miami on Friday and Saturday.
The Broncos, along with all teams in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, will be wearing Headway Foundation decals on their helmets. The goal of the 2018 Concussion Awareness weekend is to promote a safer sports culture surrounding concussions through Headway's "New Tough" campaign, spread awareness, and provide educational resources for student-athletes.
"The Headway Foundation has taken great initiative," said WMU senior captain Scott Moldenhauer.
