KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The third-ranked Western Michigan hockey team completed the sweep of No. 2 North Dakota after a 2-0 win at Lawson Ice Arena on Saturday night.
The sweep was the second in program history over the Fighting Hawks and the first at home. WMU (16-5-0, 8-4-0) moves up into second place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference standings after earning the six points.
Junior netminder Brandon Bussi made 24 saves to earn his third shutout of the season, while freshman forward Max Sasson and senior defenseman Michael Joyaux each scored goals in the victory.
