KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team was able to retain its top-10 ranking this week, despite dropping a pair of games to Colorado College in the opening round of the NCHC Tournament.
The Broncos checked in at No. 9 in both the DCU/USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. St. Cloud State and Ohio State leaped over WMU in the USCHO poll, while just the Buckeyes moved in front of Western Michigan in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine rankings. The NCHC had Denver, St. Cloud State and Western Michigan in the top 10.
