Hockey series preview: No. 3 Denver (24-8-0) at No. 5 WMU (21-10-1)

Western Michigan hockey returns to Lawson for the second straight weekend to take on third-ranked Denver. The Broncos are coming off a home sweep of Colorado College and have won 11 of its last 12 games.

WMU has reached a new season high ranking of No. 5 nationally and now has one of its toughest tests of the season against the reigning national champions.

This will be the first matchup between the teams this season after the Broncos went just 1-3 against the Pioneers in the 2021-22 season. Denver took the first three games 3-5, 2-5, and 1-4, but the Broncos took the final game at Lawson arena 6-4.
